Thanks giving and Prayer (Colossians 1:1-14)

 

Giving thanks for the church in Colosse, Paul commends them with his faith, hope and love. (vs. 4, 5).The gospel is same in Colosse as all in the world (vs.6), indicating the universal nature of faith in the first century. Elements of this gospel include:

 

1. Faith in Jesus Christ (vs.4).
2. Love for all the saints (vs.4).
3. Hope in the kingdom of Heaven (vs.5)

 

St: Paul exhorts the church 5 things.

1. Live a life worthy of the Lord and may please him in everything (vs:10a)
2. Bearing fruit in every good work (vs:10b)
3. Growing in the knowledge of God (vs:10c)
4. Strengthened with His power (vs:11)
5. Joyfully giving thanks to the God Almighty (vs12).

 

The greatest thing to thank God be that He loved us and gave redemption and forgiveness of sins (vs.14).

 

          I thank all the parents who send their children to Junior/Senior conference.20 children participated in this year’s conference. I am grateful to all Parish members for the wholehearted co-operation to celebrate Parish day. It was a time of blessing that we could participate in Holy Communion with our beloved Theodosius Thirumeni.
